DIY Chef’s Salad

My daughters absolutely love salad night, because they control the type and amount of ingredients that go into their salad.

Here are ingredients you can choose from to fit your family’s preferences:

• Lettuce (Romaine, arugula, mixed greens, iceberg, spinach)

• Chopped or julienned vegetables (tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini)

• Fresh or dried fruit (blueberries, strawberries, raisins, goji berries)

• Unprocessed deli meat or chopped/shredded meat (leftover meat works great here)

• Shredded cheese

• Hard-boiled eggs

• Homemade tuna, salmon or sardine salad

• Olives, sundried tomatoes, roasted bell peppers, bacon bits

• Avocado

• Organic or homemade dressing or vinaigrette

Set out all the ingredients in individual platters or bowls and let each family member make her own salad!

Serves: As many as you need

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: Unless you are roasting or grilling vegetables or meat, no cooking time whatsoever!
