

Snow Day Pancakes
Another ❄️snowday ❄️ which means another day to keep the monkeys occupied and helping in the kitchen. They asked for pancakes, and pancakes they shall make: gluten free and Paleoish pancakes made with coconut flour, eggs, organic whole milk, and honey (to see the recipe I adapted from, go to nourishingdays.com). These pancakes go perfectly with Kerrygold grassfed butter and maple syrup or raw honey. The smoothie is made with frozen organic berries, organic spinach, hemp heart


Oatmeal Bar Night
I have to admit--I really miss oatmeal. Like a lot. When I eliminated gluten from my diet, I was excited to still be able to have my morning oats, but a couple of years after going gf, I had to stop eating even the certified gluten free kind when I began developing a strong sensitivity to it and other gf grains. And this is where my paleo life began. My daughters, however, are not sensitive to the gf oats, and because the girls are paleoish, they'll be enjoying some tonight.


My Family's Natural Immune Support Routine
Helping the hubby and the girlies fight off their drainage and scratchy throats by supporting their immunity. In addition to soups, vegetables, and nutrient-dense foods, we started the morning with:

Sloppy Joe's using local, high-quality ingredients
Local, grassfed ground beef from Farm to Fork Foods--perfect for making one of my family's favorites, sloppy Joe's. Ingredients:
•1 onion, chopped
•2 lbs grassfed ground beef (bison, pork, turkey will work well too)
•1 jar of organic pasta sauce
•2-4 tbsp (or more to taste) raw honey (such as Nature Nate's)
•salt & pepper to taste
