Healing Bone Broth
I always have frozen homemade bone broth on hand, but since our youngest has double ear infections and will have to be on a round of antibiotics, I'm immediately preparing more broth to replace the ones I'll be putting into soup tonight. Along with her ear infections, we found out her second set of ear tubes came out, meaning we might have to go for a third round...meanwhile, I plan on increasing her probiotic, colostrum, raw honey, and broth intake to minimize the negative e


Homemade Bone Broth
Homemade bone broth 14 hours into the process. Look at the nice gelatin forming on the top. I typically cook it for 24 hours and sometimes longer, and add the broth to soups, stews, and for cooking or sautéing vegetables. When I'm not feeling well or when I'm lacking energy, I like to sip on broth throughout the day.
With the cold, flu, and strep season in full swing, broth is cooking 24/7 at our house. Which is coming in particularly handy as the hubby's throat is scratchy


Everything-but-the-Stuffing-Turkey-and-Vegetable-Soup
Like many of you who celebrated Thanksgiving last week, we still had leftover Turkey even today. After gorgeous spring-like weather this weekend, today we awoke to to 30 degrees Fahrenheit, and every time cold weather hits, we all want soup. So, I prepared this "Everything-but-the-Stuffing-Turkey-and-Vegetable-Soup." Safta Soup (homemade bone broth vegetable and chicken soup)
A very rainy day and missing my family and friends in Israel called for my Safta (grandma in Hebrew) vegetable and chicken soup.
Started with the bone broth I prepared and froze and couple months ago, the veggies that our friend brought from his dad's garden (along with some I had to use up), and grilled chicken that my in-laws gave us before going out of town.
